GAS RATE CALCULATOR
Calculator for working out gas rate and heat input from a measured volume of gas.

A) Gas Type

LPG may be propane, butane or a mixture. Use the gross calorific value supplied for the actual metered gas; do not guess it.

Leave the Natural Gas CV blank to use the clearly labelled 38.76 MJ/m³ teaching average, or enter the current gross CV where an exact comparison is required.

B) Measurement

Metric meter: use the recognised one-minute check, including any extra seconds taken for the display digit to change, or the established two-minute check.

C) Manufacturer’s Rated Input - Optional

Only compare like with like. Manufacturer instructions and the appliance data badge should state whether the rated input is gross or net.

D) Stopwatch

Use this to fill the timed test period automatically, or enter the measured time manually.

0 seconds

E) Procedure confirmation
