Entry requirements
Who can take this route.
This pathway is for experienced wet-central-heating installers. Before booking, candidates must meet LCL Awards’ occupational entry requirements through an appropriate Level 2 or Level 3 plumbing, heating, gas or oil qualification, or another accepted evidenced route for experienced installers.
Water Regulations, G3 and Low Temperature Heating are additional prerequisites. Completing those courses alone does not establish eligibility for the ASHP qualification. We will check all evidence before confirming a booking.
Qualification scope
Non-refrigerant circuits only.
This qualification covers the non-refrigerant circuits of air source heat-pump systems. It does not qualify the holder to break into, assemble, charge, recover refrigerant from, leak-check or otherwise work on a refrigerant circuit. Separate refrigerant-handling or F-Gas competence is required where applicable.

Which qualifications do you currently hold?
Start by confirming that you have an accepted occupational route, then tick every supporting qualification you can evidence.
We will check that each supporting certificate is valid and acceptable under the current LCL Awards entry requirements. Where a certificate has an expiry date, TomKat requires at least three months’ validity remaining on the course start date.
Leave a supporting qualification unticked if you do not hold it or it does not meet the stated check. We can include the required course in your pathway.
