What is an ACS Gas Course?

The ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) is the recognised qualification required for gas engineers to work legally and safely on gas appliances in the UK.

Whether you’re entering the industry for the first time or looking to expand your qualifications, ACS certification proves your competence and allows you to register with Gas Safe.

Who is the Initial ACS Assessment for?

This initial assessment is designed for candidates who are taking their ACS exams for the first time.

You may be:

  • A newly trained gas engineer completing your qualifications
  • Someone returning to the industry
  • Expanding into new gas categories

If you have already completed ACS before, you’ll need a reassessment instead.

What’s Included in the Course?

Our ACS initial assessment includes:

  • Full assessment for your chosen gas categories
  • Practical and theory-based testing
  • Certification upon successful completion

All prices listed above include VAT and certification costs.

How Long Does the ACS Assessment Take?

The duration depends on the gas categories you are taking.

Most candidates complete their ACS assessment over a few days, with both practical and written elements included.

What Happens After You Pass?

Once you’ve successfully passed your ACS assessment:

  • You can apply for Gas Safe registration
  • You’ll be qualified to legally carry out gas work in your approved categories
  • Your certification is typically valid for 5 years
